Victim Witness Assistance Program
The Victim Witness Assistance Program (VWAP) is a voluntary program offered through Ontario Victims & Vulnerable Persons Division within the Ministry of the Attorney General. The program’s mandate is to provide information, assistance and support to victims and witnesses of crime and human trafficking, throughout the criminal court process in order to increase their understanding of, and participation in, the criminal court process. Once a criminal charge has been laid, services are offered on a priority basis to victims of sexual assault 18+, intimate partner violence, hate crimes, elder abuse, families of homicide victims or traffic fatalities and vulnerable and marginalized victims.
